PROPER CARE AND MAINTENANCE
FRAME CLEANING:
• Vacuum dirt from the sill and track areas before washing. • Clean window and door frames with a mixture of mild dish soap and water. • Abrasive or caustic cleaners or solvents are NEVER recommended. • Always rinse completely with clean water and wipe dry.DRAINAGE SYSTEMS:
• Check to make certain the drainage or “weep holes” are always clear of dirt, stucco, sand or building materials, both inside and outside the window or door in the bottom of the frame. • It’s normal for water to accumulate in the sill or track area with wind driven rain. The water is intended to drain to the outside as water builds up or outside pressure subsides. • Keep sill or track areas clean of dirt or debris. • Use a small, soft bottle brush to clear openings.GLASS CARE:
• Clean glass with mild dish soap and clean water. • Avoid washing glass in direct sunlight. • Never use any petroleum-based cleaners or caustic chemicals on your glass. • Never use a razor blade, putty knife or abrasive pad to clean the glass. • Never use a high pressure spray nozzle when rinsing your windows and doors after washing. • Abrasive or caustic cleaners are NEVER recommended because they might cause permanent damage to the finish/coating or the glass.SCREENS:
Clean screens by first removing, then washing on a flat, clean surface with mild dish soap and water and a very soft brush. Rinse, wipe dry and reinstall.CONDENSATION & MOLD:
• Condensation can be a natural occurrence in the home. • Check all windows and doors for airtight seals. • Open windows and doors whenever practical to allow interior moisture to escape. • Regularly use ceiling fans to circulate the air. • Use exhaust fans in rooms with high humidity (bathrooms/kitchen). • Use dehumidifiers to reduce the amount of moisture inside homes with high humidity.KEY DO’S AND DONT’S
DO: Clean the frame surfaces. DON’T: Use a razor blade, putty knife or abrasive pad. DO: Use a glass cleaner or mild dish soap. DON’T: Use any petroleum-based cleaners or solvents. DO: Clean tracks and “weep holes.” DON’T: Use oil-based lubricants. DO: Check weather stripping and hardware. DON’T: Live with poor performing components. DO: Clean your insulated glass with proper cleaning agents. DON’T: Add attachments to the glass or frame without approval from window manufacturer. DO: Choose CERTIFIED (NFRC/AAMA) window and door products. DON’T: Settle for products that do not meet important water, air infiltration, structural and thermal performance standards. DO: Read and understand your manufacturer’s warranty and install per AAMA/ manufacturer’s instructions.Entry Door System Warranty
Glass-sealed units:
Five(5) years from the date of manufacture against seal failure and pressure cracks. Using harmful solvents or abrasive materials to clean sealed units or painted surfaces will void the warranty.
Door Panels:
Wood Grain and Smooth Fiberglass Door:
limited warranty of ten(10) years on smooth and woodgrain fibreglass doors provided, they are installed plumb and square. The door warpage is only considered a defect when the deflection exceeds 8 mm or 5/16. All fibreglass slabs require a multipoint locking system or the warranty will be void.
Painted and stained surfaces
Stain finish on woodgrain Fibreglass Door:
BM Windows and doors provide, From the date of manufacture, a five(5) year warranty on stained fibreglass door panels against defects such as blistering or peeling. uneven colouring is due to using harmful solvents or abrasive materials to clean any stained fibreglass products are subject to varying degrees of fading. The fading is beyond palmas control and does not constitute a defect. Therefore, we cannot guarantee an exact colour match in the event a component or product is required or replaced. all fibreglass doors must be resealed every two years or the warranty is void.
Paint Finish on Smooth Fiberglass and Steel insulated Doors:
BM Windows and Doors provides, from the date of manufacture, a five(5) year warranty on painted smooth fiberglass and steel insulated doors against defects such as blistering, peeling and/or flaking. natural fading or Damage done due to using harmful solvents or abrasive materials to clean any painted surface is not warranted. Due to normal weathering coloured, vinyl products are subject to varying degrees of fading. The fading is beyond BM Control and does not constitute a defect. Therefore we cannot gurantee an exact color match in the event a component or product is required or replaced.
Door Sweep:
BM Windows and doors provide one (1) year warranty on door sweeps( under normal wear and tear conditions). The door still must be installed level and free of debris, ice, and snow buildup at all times or the warranty will be void.
General Exclusions/Limitations on Liability:
1. Accident, abuse, misuse, or neglect in handling, installation or operation, finishing, operation or maintenance.
2. Any third-party product installed on top of a BM Product, Including storm/screen doors, and exterior grilles.etc
Our 10-Year Multi-point Hardware Warranty
All door handle sets for multi-point locks are warrantied for 10 years against defects and workmanship if the products are owned by the original Purchaser and used in the residence in which they are originally installed. This limited warranty only covers residential applications and proof of original purchase is required to make a claim.
This Warranty excludes scratches and/or abrasions, and products that have been altered and/or improperly installed, abused, and/or misused. All handle sets used in commercial applications are excluded. This 10 years warranty does not cover products damaged by acts of nature, or products that are deemed to have undergone normal wear and tear. A door handle set that has not been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s written specifications will be excluded from this warranty. This warranty is expressly limited to persons or entities that purchased the door handle sets for resale or use in their ordinary course of business.
If a door handle set is found to be defective by BM Doors and Windows in a reasonable judgment, BM windows and doors will, at its sole option, either repair or replace the defective hardware. This warranty does not cover any labor charge to remove and/or reinstall door handle products
any action against this warranty will not be valid unless written notification has been received by BM Windows and doors within a 10-year period.
